THE VISITORS travelled to the arts association
Casa 5 in Tavira, Portugal, from 8 to 22 October 2011.

They were joined by new friends created by locals and holiday makers
during a workshop in the library gardens.

Picture
The visitors are a group of sculptures that escaped from their makers’ studios from many places in the world to go and travel art trails and open studios together.

They were first spotted in London during the E17 Art Trail in Walthamstow, in the Vestry House Museum Gardens during September 2010.

They enjoyed it so much that they have already booked a plane to travel to Tavira in Portugal in October 2011 and they are rumoured to have an eye on Cambrils in Spain after that.

If
you are a weatherproof, postable sculpture from anywhere in the world and you would like to join the travels, please get in touch with the coordinator. You will also be visible on this website along with your friends.

If you are the maker of a sculpture and you would like to travel along and meet the art groups who host them, also get in touch!

2 September 2010

A really great piece of news for us from the sculptures:

Beautifully coinciding with the launch for the E17 Art Trail, Fairy and Visitor have just told us they got engaged.

This is wonderful news. We had no idea this was going on while they were still resting in the bubble wrap but what a beautiful pair. You kept it well hidden from us, didn't you!!

Well what can we say – all the best you two, and the most heartfelt wishes for a wonderful life together from all of us in Walthamstow and beyond.
