FLOAT
(followed by MEET THE ARTISTS hour)

This piece by Julia Vita explores the fluid nature of air, and the relationship of humans as solid creatures within it. Are we like the leaves on a tree, faintly anchored and fluttering in the breeze, or can we truly become part of the invisible but present substance that surrounds us and gives us life?
Accompanied by acoustic guitarist Tuomo Karjaleinen.

After the performance, you have the opportunity to meet some of the artists who created the 3D works on show and chat with them about the individual ideas and creative processes. Refreshments.

INTERNATIONAL MUSIC WEEKEND AT THE ART PAVILION:
Juli Szatmari, Hungary

Juli Szatmari is a well-established and known Hungarian singer-songwriter performing her own songs on a guitar. Inspired by bossa nova, jazz, blues, rock and pop, she combines these elements in her music. Telling stories of her own life, but also writing about current political and socio-critical issues you can await a funny but serious, feather-light but deep concert.

“In my life music connects earth and sky. Melodies move me from the inside and from the outside – I could not think of another way of possibly getting closer to this kind of weightlessness. I believe maybe this is the reason I write music.”

PLANETS

Planets is a silent, guided voyage carried out to the music of Oxygen by Jean-Michel Jarre, developed to get to know ourselves and others better. FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE

Re-enacting Cosmonauts’ pre lift off rituals: an interactive experience (rotating / drop in) by Helen Porter.
People have been going into space for more than 50 years, using more than technology.
To prepare for the unknown and unusual experience, astronauts and cosmonauts have pre-launch rituals, which will be observed at the Art Pavillion.
A haircut, planting a tree, a special song and laying flowers on Yuri Gagarin's grave are just some of the cosmonaut rituals we invite you to come and partake in, interpreted in our own arty and individual style.

INTERNATIONAL MUSIC WEEKEND AT THE ART PAVILION:
sandmoon, Lebanon

Lebanese outfit sandmoon, initiated by singer songwriter Sandra Arslanian offers an original take on indie folk-pop, infusing it with subtle Middle-Eastern intonations and melancholy, and a certain timelessness.
They will be presenting a semi acoustic duo (Sandra Arslanian / Sam Wehbi) set of their previous albums as well as new material from their upcoming release.

One of the more alluring  outfits to emerge in the  region over the past decade.
Cairo Scene

The band has some thought-provoking dualities at its core, not only looking East and West culturally, but also to the past, present and future for musical inspiration.
Analogue Trash, UK

Participants will be encouraged to share their completed passports with one another and to exchange introductions. Materials will be provided. No previous experience necessary. You are welcome to take your passport home at the end of the session. All ages from 5 to 100 years, children should be accompanied by a carer.
